However, a significant part of creating an interesting shooting process is a competent balance of weapons and, most importantly, the differences between a large number of modules.Let's look at the example of the available weapons in Chasing Stars Online.
The players will have two main modules - standard and additional weapons.For each of the main weapon modules, the distinctive characteristics, in addition to visual effects and sound, are the damage done, penetration indicators and effective range.
In the case of standard weapons, depending on the quality and rarity of the module, players will be able to choose the most suitable weapons for solving tasks. A high effective range may not always be useful, since in order to increase the effective range, other characteristics will have to be sacrificed.For example, in a location with a large number of environmental objects behind which the enemy can hide from you, it is more profitable to use faster-firing modules. While in open space, the rate of fire can be sacrificed.
What about additional weapons modules? All of them are divided into two classes - Missile and Bundle. In order to give uniqueness and tangible impact, each class will have its own individual characteristics.
For example, the Missile class has an auto-guidance feature that performs well in open spaces.In turn, the Bundle class cannot boast of this, however, all its power is revealed in confined spaces. Due to the high speed of projectiles and damage, this class will easily instill fear in the hearts of enemies.
What is ultimately necessary for an interesting shooting? A huge role, as you understand, is played by fine-tuning the balance of weapons. By changing modules while increasing his level, the player must feel the progression, and see an increase in combat potential.
In addition, let's not forget about the visual effects. Playing and shooting from beautiful planes is more interesting when the weapon has a recognizable sound, firing pattern, animation and, of course, juicy explosions with the effects of hitting enemies. What do you think?
